Robot Fighting is the evolution of what was once G-Jay. More than 6 years ago Caleb MacIvor started a rock band in CheongJu Korea circa 2006. The original G-Jay went through two line-ups before expanding into G-Jay 2.0. With the departure of front man Ian 'Ike' MacDonald, G-Jay 2.0 featured new front man Norbert Morvan and included saxophonist Tim Crawford, guitarist Gordon MacKay and current drummer Carlo Gentile on percussion. The band restructured once again when drummer Ed McEntee left the band for family responsibilities, and then bassist Tony Boyd left the band just as they were preparing to record there first album after the G-Jay era. The band took on CheongJu's prized bass player Bob Massicotte. Carlo moved to the drums and so a spot opened up for the crowd pleasing Matteo Cinanni on percussion. At this point the members felt it necessary to find a new identity through a new name, even though they would still be performing most of G-jay 2.0 material for live gigs and eventually track the songs for their studio album. The name 'KIN: sound of vitality' was short lived and the band later renamed themselves again. Currently Robot Fighting, the band released the long overdue studio album available as of fall 2012.
