Big Goob began writing and rapping in 1991. He used to go to Easy E, Ice Cube and Snoop concerts and wanted to be up on that stage. He loves music but his passion is really about performing. Everyone should be able to do what they love and get paid for it. He was raised in West Phoenix and Avondale where his mom and dad gave him the nickname of Goober. He was not sure how they came up with it but it is how everyone knew him while he was growing up. Along the way people shortened it and he became “Big Goob”. Big Goob wrote “My Life in the Rear-View” from experiences he had as an adolescent/young adult. He saw music as a way to vent from the bad experiences as well as creating something that others with those same situations can relate to. He hopes that his music can help others find a way out of the difficulties that life can present. His dream is to put Arizona on the map for other artists and to let them know that they too can rise above their situations and succeed. One of Big Goob’s favorite memories was the first time he set foot in the City of Soldiers studio. He had so much music and so many things he wanted to talk about that it felt like he could go on for hours. He knew that he was doing something that he loved and felt like this was his calling in life. Big Goob is currently working on his second album as well as a collaboration with his music partners "The Block Bleedaz". Be on the lookout for a lot of music from Holly Girl Music in 2014.
