"The NYC-based Bredahl (pronounced bray-doll) emerged as a formidable trio playing the city’s clubs. However, this debut 2014 EP centers on singer/songwriter Nik Lokensgaard’s mastery of complex hi-fi home recording and his struggles with past love and those nagging “what ifs” that drive contemplative people nuts. Time spent in Denmark introduced him to the power of Scandinavian pop, and there’s a Jens Lekman–styled love for strong hooks on “Just Play the Part” and “Never Going to Get It Right.” There's a forlorn beauty to “Wearing Down,” where the falsetto-driven chorus breaks like sunlight over the icy blue hearts."
