I have been playing piano and singing since I was about six years old. I started competing in pageants (with piano as my talent) at age nine. In 2014, I was crowned Miss North Dakota's Outstanding Teen. The year of my reign was chaotic, overwhelming, incredible, and unforgettable. On a particularly stressful day, I sat down at the piano in my high school and simply began to play. I improvised for a total of about 20 minutes with an audience of one: myself. By the end of it I was a sobbing mess and every bad feeling I had previously melted away. That is the exact moment I knew what I wanted to do with my life. Piano is my life and music is my language - I hope I have succeeded in conveying that to my audience.
