简介
An acoustic-based rock musician hailing from New Jersey, Brian Colburn has been a mainstay of the NJ music scene for the past decade, and is currently making a name for himself in the singer / songwriter circle. Colburn's music is grounded in soaring melodies and memorable hooks, giving his music a cross-genre appeal. Since 2007, Brian has released three full discs of original music: 2007's "Literal Fiction," 2008's "Time Marches On," and 2009's "Life Happens." Also in 2009, Brian was featured on the Versailles Record's release of "Wicked Garden: A Millennium Tribute To Stone Temple Pilots," where he and DC Slater contributed an acoustic-reworking of the band's classic track "Unglued." In 2010, Brian released the digital singles "Sacred Sounds" and "Simple" (both of which will appear on his next studio CD, currently slated for mid-2011). Literal Fiction includes 10 tracks, ranging from upbeat sing-alongs (‘Summer Song’ and ‘Makin Rounds’) and jam-oriented rock (‘Beyond the Grey’ and ‘A Matter of Time’); to instrumental explorations (‘Daydream’) and more laid back fare (‘Sometime, Someway’ and ‘Once Again’). Two of the tracks include a guest appearance by fellow Jersey artist DC Slater, who brings a mellow-groove to the disc’s 3rd track (‘Rewind’) and injects the disc’s title track with a shot of blues-electricity. Brian's influences include: John Hiatt, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, Robert Randolph, Donavon Frankenreiter, Blues Traveler, Sister Hazel, Toad The Wet Sprocket, moe., From Good Homes, Railroad Earth, and Phish. Brian has appeared as an opening act for Blues Traveler, Plain White T's, Hot Day At The Zoo, and Toad The Wet Sprocket. Brian continues to perform throughout the North-East, and is constantly writing new material. More information on Brian Colburn can be found at www.BrianColburn.com
