Logan Henry & the New Frontier hits the ground running with swagger and conviction on the opening cut “Don’t Know How.” “How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” and “Black and White” showcase the band’s funk leaning while still retaining their edge. One of Henry’s best lyrical moments is the raw and witty “White Boy Blues,” and the thunderous “Ode the Oddball Kid” is a tribute to the perennial Tom Waits. However, the album reaches a dynamic peak on “Her Final Song,” with its emotionally stirring content.
