Following the Hudson river as it winds north from Manhattan, you will eventually find yourself in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, home to BLACK SPARROW, an eclectic new breed of Roots Rock. The band consists of Jeremy Bernstein (lead vocals/guitars), Craig Santiago (drums/vocals), and Andrew Shoeber (bass/vocals). Before joining forces, Jeremy had spent the past 9 years honing his song writing while recording and touring with Stoney Clove Lane, George Clinton, and Drugs. Andrew found himself playing bass with Levon Helm for the first run of the Midnight Rambles while Craig had been touring and recording with reggae greats Trumystic and Acorn, as well as folk heroes Mike and Ruthy. BLACK SPARROW began playing together as summer turned to fall, and recording as the fall turned to winter. Spring now marks the release of the debut EP BLACK SPARROW. The live show is full of raw energy and good songs that will have you humming all the way home down the river.
