简介

This is a Celebration of Oscar Wilde\'s Poems Collection- called Rosa Mystica and Wind Flowers back in 1880-1882; written while still a student in Oxford, before becoming famous with his plays and being forced to leave to Paris after 2 years of hard labour in jail for being labeled a homosexual. Oscar Wilde is a hero that cannot be forgotten. He died in Paris in 1900. 108 years after his death his words still ring true to all generations and is completely witty, melancholic and timeless. I have chosen these 3 particular songs because they happened to be my favourite poems (as well as writer) and they also had a very important meaning to him. As well as it does to me. \"The Harlot\'s House\" : (from Poems 1882) The resonance of this title is increased by ch. 2 of the Book of joshua. The poem contains deliberate echoes of Edgar Allan Poe\'s verses \"The Haunted Palace\" from The fallof the house of Usher, plus themedieval tradition of the dance of death, or dance macabre, an ominous dance of the living with the dead, which had been notably used by Baudelaire and by Gautier. *Treues Libes Herz\' of Strauss: The Heart of true Love\", a waltz by Viennese composer Johann Strauss (1825-99) \"Impression du Matin\" : (from Wind Flowers) Impression of the Morning.Thefrench Influence of Gautier, to Wilde \'most fascinating poets\', becomes evident here and later.Gautier\'s Emaux et Camees emphasized objective description free from emotional asides and didactic commentary. The connection to French Impressionist painting is also evident. * refernces to paintings by James Mc Neill Whistler, another disciple of Gautier, who famously sued Ruskon for a scronful review. \'Nocturne in Blue and Gold\' and \'Harmony in Grey-Chelsea on Ice\' are both Whistler\'s paintings.Wilde\'s friendship with with Whistler early turned sour,as the painter demanded total discipleship. \"Requiescat\" : (from Rosa Mystica) Requiescat, may she rest. Said to have been written in memory of Wilde\'s younger sister Isola, who died aged 8,in 1867. I personally dedicate this CD IN Memoriam With Love to: Oscar Wilde and to my soulmate Tarka Cordell-Lavarack. I really hope you enjoy the poems and get into the song\'s vibes as this is what I visualized in my inner soul as I read the poems. I cannot be prouder to have chosen these POEMS to sing to, since I have never before sung such great lyrics with so much depth and feeling. It is a dream come true for me to have been able to collaborate with Oscar WIlde, even after his death. LOVE IS ALL, KARINA VAN RON Requiescat (in pace): Rest in peace.
