To quote a famous writer, Harlan Ellison "writers take tours in other peoples lives". All these songs were written on different tours with great people experiencing our lives together. Some of whom I have not seen for many years but they still hold a place in my thoughts. Many of the songs came from when my wife and I were taking self development courses and the emotions from myself and others "bore" those songs. "Avalanche" - how we can create a great life to live in with awesome people around us. The Main title song "Be Rich" - that comes when we have family, friends, love, love of life, and yes $$$ as well! "Just another Mountain" - if down, get back up, it's just another mountain you can climb, and... "White Light" co-written with my wife during an "event" at a course! 6 days total 10 hours sleep and group of A type personalities! The oldest song was when I was barely 19 called "The Forest" - Those of you who will recognize will see there is a definite Chris De Burgh influence there. "It's Time" was a tour through the eyes of a band from Hungary called V-Moto Rock and the hardships they had to endure within and while outside their home country. Lots of Allusion and Alliteration in that one - most fun! "Shine" was written during my own tour and i was going the wrong way (I thought) so decided a nice pick me up was needed. This was first recorded with my band called Publicity in 1987! "In Parting" is from a conversation i had with my girlfriend at the time, and our breakup and the interesting life after! (She called me from across the country at 2 in the morning so I couldn't sleep, wrote down a bunch of lyrics. Next morning in the shower the tune came. Done!!) To cut it short, I asked her to marry me and it took 16 years for her to say yes...after we both married someone else, but that is for another CD! "Winds of Change" is the most "outside the box" song on the CD. It is a retelling of a story told to me by two ladies who had the experience. I thank them for their sharing and much gratitude for allowing me to share in my altered way. This song came about when my brother introduced me to Ofra Haza! You will sense the middle eastern beat right away. Pay close attention to the lyrics as this is a true story telling song with an amazing twist near the end! This song won second in an international song writing contest - I am happy to report! Oh P.S. - the company moved it to Christian category from Alternative. Guess they were right! The last to talk about is "In Parting". This brings us back to my lovely wife. One night we played a game called what If, and we both said the same thing at one point - to the shock of both of us. Yes a love song, but again with a twist. Thanks for taking a "tour" with me and maybe, one day, our paths may meet, and another tour begins.....
