简介
"Stone Cold Sober" is the second title in Just Jacob's debut song cycle, Indian Summer. Heavily influenced by vintage modern rock acts like The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen, "Stone Cold Sober" explores the gut wrenching challenge of pulling your partner back from the abyss of substance abuse. The song was composed, produced, mixed, and mastered by Just Jacob across one of the worst winters that struck Chicago, IL in many years. The collection of songs comprising the entirety of Indian Summer refers to the season of the artist's birth juxtaposed with stories from Native American culture about a vital period of warmth that follows a killing frost. Each title in the song cycle is based on specific narratives from the life of the artist and the people he has met, yet also fictionalized to protect the identity of the song's primary subject. Together, the songs of Indian Summer develop different perspectives on an ancient theme of redemption as it emerges today. For more information on the historic roots of Indian Summer, the artist recommends an article with the same name by Lumbee / Creek author, community leader, and civil rights activist, Jamie K.
