DeeJay Sean has always had music running through his veins, it all started when he used to hear his father practice. His father was in a local band within the area; Sean really started to appreciate all kinds of music at an early age. After years of listening to his father practice, rehearse, and perform in concerts, Sean really wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and continue the family trend of music appreciation, Sean dabbled in different types of instruments, such as drums, saxophone, and guitar and it was only until he came across the piano that he didn’t have to make a decision he just knew. There was something about the piano that Sean had struck a chord with (pardon the pun). Sean’s mother had an old Yamaha upright piano sitting in the lounge room of their family home, and Sean at a young age whenever he had the chance would be on it bashing the keys down, trying to make sense of different sounds. Whilst Sean was trying to understand how the piano worked, after a while he started to notice those harsh notes that he once played were becoming more pleasant to listen to, and also for everyone around him. That’s when his parents decided to get a tutor in and teach him music theory. Years of basic music training Sean thought “Well I have now the raw basics of what I need to do; now I want to take my time and teach the rest to myself” Through the ages of between 7 to 19 or there abouts, he kept tinkering on the ivory’s, learning different note patterns, and different chord progressions, he would put several pieces of music together for his own enjoyment, and when he would play them for other people they would really enjoy it too. Once Sean got to the age of 19 he actually realized that not only he really enjoyed playing piano, he also had quite a collection of music such as CD's, vinyl, tapes etc. With this collection he wanted to expand his love of music and get out there and host parties for people, he started doing jobs for friends and family, then branched out deejaying parties for people in general, from there being a mobile DJ. He networked throughout the years and met some incredible people which led him into clubs within Melbourne. So between the ages of 19 to his current age, he has been DJaying, and making his own music for everyone to enjoy. It was only a few years ago that Sean decided to really get into making his own music for other dj’s to play at clubs and venues, he would then now know that his name would represent his passion and style for his talented gift. Having said that Sean started building a small but powerful studio, at his residence, and spent countless hours in their, at any given time, putting different sounds together. Sean had to now decide what type of sound he wanted to portray which would reflect him, after thinking of what type of genre he really would like to pursue, he always liked a good beat, and bass line, that was all very important to him, together with his knowledge of music and playing piano for so many years, couple with the technology of what he could do in his studio, with all those ingredients, Sean wants to produce a sound like no other, ambient trance is what Deejay Sean is all about. Sean always said to himself, “The day I hear one of my songs, in someone’s car whilst I am pulled up at the lights waiting for them to change, I will know, I have made it”. All Sean ever had intended to do with his passion for music is to share it with the rest of the world.
