Tommy Dodson composed the music, as well as devised the arrangements, directed, sang and played for the recording of this CD. The musical is based upon Tommy’s original concept, which was developed into the libretto and lyrics for “Blues, Booze & Attitude” by Curtis W. Long. This period piece suggests the predicament of choir director Thad Johnson in juggling the seeming contradiction of his alter ego, Spats Dollar, a bawdy-house piano plunker.

Thad is torn between his lucrative career as a honky tonk piano player and his commitment to his religious beliefs and duty to taking care of his mother and grandmother.
