Internationally acclaimed Australian trio BRILLIG boldly twist the traditional in Folk/Americana. Storytellers from another time, they channel enduring elements of colonial-era folk music for 21st Century audiences through a distinct blend of haunting lyrics and uplifting melodies. BRILLIG's highly anticipated 2013 album, “I Ain’t Ever Gonna See The Sea”, presents a collection of original cowboy ballads & rollicking sea shanties, deliciously dark gunfighter tunes & sweet ocean laments. The 13 songs run the gamut of emotions, with some sassy & wicked, others melancholic & wistful. All of BRILLIG's trademarks are here: the days-gone-by poetic flair of their storytelling, lush male/female vocals & an eclectic host of folk instruments, from the traditional (acoustic guitar, autoharp, banjo, ukulele, accordion, harmonica) to the not-so-traditional (Rickenbacker guitar & electric bass). The album was recorded at renowned SA studio Mixmasters with famed producer Mick Wordley at the helm. In a bold move, BRILLIG recorded and mixed in analogue to 2 inch tape, a specialty of Mixmasters.
