That song was picked-up by Perth radio station Nova 93.7, and she became the first unsigned artist with a song on regular commercial rotation. From there, she made two more releases; her debut album, “Know Me” in 2007, and a maxi-single called “Trade” in 2009, which was on the human-trafficking epidemic and features Universal recording artist Chino XL. As a result, she has created a buzz on an international level, winning 7 Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) titles of “Urban/R&B Performer of The Year 2009”, “Urban/R&B Album of the Year 2009”, “Urban Artist of The Year 2008”, “Youth Vocalist of the Year 2008”, “Urban Artist of the Year 2007”, and “Urban Album of the Year 2007”. Alima also put in a collaborative effort as a featured artist that won “Compilation of the Year 2009″ for Bratfest Music Compilation, amongst being nominated in multiple categories throughout the years. Alima has not only shared the stage with international R&B and Hip-Hop artists from Keyshia Cole to Rhymefest, she has collabed with industry emcees Layzie Bone (Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony), Chino XL, Hussein Fatal (The Outlawz), and Big Sloan (Mo Thugs), as well as worked with gold and multi-platinum producers who have produced for Hip-Hop greats from Tupac to Young Jeezy. Relocating back to Perth in 2010, Alima brings back her achievements, while continuing to pursue her passion for songwriting.
