Amadou Sodia forms part of the new breed of international base Guinean artists, a product of the massive state funding of traditional musicians by former Guinean President sekou Toure. He made name in the earlier 70s on the Guinean musical scene but soon moved to France, where, he has been base for several years. His music are usually sang in the local Mandingue and Sousou language mix with french. Often, his songs are about love, life struggle, as well as religion, typical of most Guinean artists.
