Produced, written, and recorded entirely by himself, Phone Sex II / Second Glance takes a step (or two) beyond the self-deprecating, goofy, slacker-bounce of his first release Phone Sex / First Perception.

Bowen has refined his style both lyrically and production wise. While still having elements of typical hip-hop braggadocio, Buck ventures into themes uncommon to the genre, such as chocolate milk, brushing your teeth, and grade school memories. His production has an unpolished feel, in the good way, favoring dusty vinyl to the dirt less sound of software beats. Each track segues into the next, at times seamlessly, at others, seemingly. And we can't forget the mysterious Snake Boots, Bowen's occasional partner in rhyme, whose age could be counted on one hand. Some people wear their heart on the their sleeve. Others put it in their music. PSII is unadulterated; it's entertaining; it's art.
