“Futuros Amantes” is a very famous composition by Chico Buarque. It was recommended for the instant classic “Alexandra Jackson: Legacy & Alchemy” project with the tag line: “Every Brazilian woman wanted to marry Chico after they heard this song.” Indeed, this song has been done by a number of legendary Brazilian singers; so, this was risky territory for Ms. Jackson to venture into in Portuguese. Perhaps this song best signals Ms. Jackson's future career of doing “classic Brazil music” in Portuguese – but with an American twist. Here that is brought by her compelling collaboration with Guest Star producer / arranger / pianist Maestro Larry Williams with The Bossa Nova Noites Orquestra. Recorded in Rio de Janeiro, the track features a rhythm section led by Maestro Williams (Piano) with Brazilian masters Arthur Maia (Bass), Teo Lima (Drums), Armando Marcal (Percussion) and Ricardo Silveira (Guitar). In a nod to Chico Buarque, Ms. Jackson whistles on the recording; and she and Maestro Williams pay great respect and homage to such a classic Brazilian song.
