简介
Marty Nelson has been a writer/singer in the NYC area for over 30 years. As a teenager, he began his career as a founding member of original jazz vocal group The Manhattan Transfer and recorded the first album on Capitol Records. He went on to be a record producer and a freelance studio singer in New York City. He has sung on over 1000 radio and TV commercials. He has also performed and recorded with a wide variety of artists - from Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story - Great Performances on PBS) to Frank Sinatra (Trilogy Album) to the Village People (a ringer on their albums). Marty recently returned to performing his live solo jazz show "Some Sinatra, Some Scatting, Plus . . . ?" in the NYC region. He also gives scat seminars to colleges and high schools Marty is a real Jersey Shore native, and his music often reflects those roots. His love of all styles of music is evident in the expanse of his composing styles on his last three albums. His latest CD "Paint Me" contains a whole new focus on his folk/rock related roots with many acoustic based songs (He still loves to "Travis Pick"). Rise Tomorrow Publishing is his informational music site. His style is intimate, thoughtful and honest (with a touch of fun).
