Owen Vahey is a Dublin based Singer-Songwriter, who blends catchy rhythms with heartfelt lyrics to create a unique Acoustic sound. Owen studied Philosophy for the past 4 years whilst honing his craft as a songwriter and performer in various venues across the city. Owen incorporates insightful lyrics into his songs while maintaining that keen ear for melody. While Ireland is home to some of the most exciting and interesting singer-songwriters operating in the business today Owen offers something unique through his keen ear for melody coupled with insightful lyrics. These elements along with a searing honesty and powerful delivery combine to produce an explosive live performance package, which has become synonymous with Irish performers over the last few decades. Having played gigs all across Dublin and Ireland in the past, Owen played as an International Showcase Act at the Reykjavík Melodica Acoustic Festival in August 2012. Having finished recording sessions with Gavin Glass at Orphan Recording, Owen’s debut EP 'Other Places' will be released online and in physical format on July 26th 2014. Performing alongside Owen for live performances are Luke Duffy and Elin Thora Ellertsdottir, whose unique talents add a vibrancy and depth to the proceedings, and which are in evidence on 'Other Places'.
