This song had its birth in 2007 when I became captivated by a man I had met at a party and spent only half-a-day with as he was leaving Jamaica to return home. We kept in touch and within a month, I wrote him a marriage proposal in song, but alas, I believe the song was too much for him - he was overwhelmed but never did answer me. In 2012, while looking through my compilation of copyrighted songs, I came upon ‘With You’, the marriage proposal and decided to share it with the world. I contacted an arranger with whom I worked on the song, adding a chorus and voila! – the wedding song. I decided to dedicate ‘With You’ to my nephew Mark and his wife in order to honor them for the outpouring of love they have shown me, especially while attending their wedding in October 2011 in Evansville, Indiana. The wedding was memorable as it was an expression of love by all who attended and the beautiful memories linger on. The song ‘With You’ has changed from a marriage proposal to the wedding song, and it is my desire that brides world-wide will choose this song to play at their weddings.
