简介
A.K.A (Anointed Kadeem and Anthony) is a profound soulful Gospel Rap duo dedicated to their vision of delivering powerful and uplifting messages of the gospel through music. A.K.A.’s ministry is to win young people to Christ who don’t know Christ as their Lord and Savior, and to encourage the youth who do know Christ to keep on living for Christ. A.K.A consists of two biological brothers – Kadeem and Anthony Ferdinand. Kadeem and Anthony grew up in a musical family. Their father, Eustace Ferdinand, is one of the founders of the gospel group More Than Conquerors formed in St. Croix over two decades ago. The group continues to minister in music and currently operates out of Tampa, Florida. Growing up under the gospel musical influence of their father, Kadeem and Anthony took an interest in music at an early age. Kadeem and Anthony began rapping and composing their own music at the age of 12 (Kadeem) and 13 (Anthony). Their first single I’m A Soldier was released three years later in 2006 with much success. In October of 2010 the profound soulful Gospel Rap duo released their debut album giving it the same title as their phenomenally successful 2006 first single I’m A Soldier. A.K.A.’s 2010 debut album fuses a unique style of hip-hop beats with powerful biblically based lyrics that speak directly to the various issues youth face today. The musical and lyrical style of A.K.A. reflects the hip-hop generation that Kadeem, Anthony and today’s youth have grown up in; however, recognizing the unique calling on their lives Kadeem and Anthony broke away from the negativity and lustful lure of secular hip-hop and chose to forsake all, to take up their cross and to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to reach this generation of young people for God using Gospel Rap as their weapon of spiritual warfare. A.K.A. represents the essence of what it means to be in the world of hip-hop but not of the world of hip-hop. Kadeem and Anthony live their faith walk as an example to other youth demonstrating what it means to live holy and be Christ like. A.K.A. truly lives up to their name and calling as anointed men of God as they take a stand for Jesus Christ among today’s youth and take a Godly stand in contrast to the secular Hip-Hop culture.
