DR080 is sure to be one of the biggest releases of the year. With a great original from Odonbat comes a great remix from Shaun Hutchinson and then theres the small matter of a remix from one of producers of 2014 who has gained worldwide acclaim over the past 12 months, Standerwick. Starting with the original, Akira, blesses the ears with a tech percussion vibe and tough claps as it builds to a rolling synth bass line that guarantees to get your foot tapping pretty much instantly. Rolling arps build the track to a mini break that raises the tension beautifully, before dropping that bass back in and building the track with sidechained filtering pads. Just when you think the track has all it needs, Odonbat drops a perfectly timed key change on listeners to keep the track progressing all the way up to the break. Filtering elements down as the track drops into the break warm pads and vocal atmosphere's are supported by deep, rich pianos that give this break a lovely progression. The main lead is pure uplifting and building to the mini drop in the break before dropping all the elements out for the main build this track has great energy control. Making his return to Digitized the label where it all started again Ian brings his unique style of trance to the label once more. And he doesnt disappoint. By now you all know his style, driving bass and big energy and this remix is no exception. Using the arp to bring things in early the track kick straight off the big driving bass and saw sounds that are now a Standerwick trademark. Using vocal pads and the arp, driven by rolling hi hats and big kick the track builds with great energy all the way to the break. Coming in pretty early at 2.20 the break drops down warm pads, and vocal elements before dropping out to leave an empty space for the build, and what a build. A simply huge arp lead and massive virus style pads give this track a trance explosion in the drop that will set dance floors well and truly ablaze.
