This collaboration with programmer and engineer Ned Douglas (then working with Dave Stewart, subsequently with Mick Hucknall, Atomic Kitten and Blue among others) provided an apt backdrop to Sally's own bluesy writing style yielding an album of ambient, laid-back tracks and a handful of singles. Sally's earlier pro work included a session with popular dance act Saint Etienne in the 1990s. She latterly collaborated with ambient music duo Surge. After writing and recording together for just a couple of months, Millennium Records signed them and released Cold Air – a Surge/Strawberry original. Remixes of Cold Air and a successful cover of Gershwin’s Summertime were released as well-reviewed singles with extensive air play - notably on Pete Tong’s essential collection and XFM. However, her appetite for live work led to the formation of a blues trio, performing on the European circuit. Sally was particularly drawn to France – with several successful festival dates, including Beauvais and Cognac. Latterly Sally toured the South Coast of England on the jazz and blues circuit and also toured with 20 year-old French Blues prodigy Charlie Fabert in France and the UK. Sally has recently released a brand new single as a solo project called “Hear you lie” whilst continuing work on her solo album and seeking out interesting collaborations.
