About Singing came naturally to Savannah Phillips. The bubbly blonde pop star admits to marching around her house belting out songs from an early age, driving her brothers and sister crazy as she sang “Lullaby” by Shawn Mullins on repeat. Her family quickly learned that this was more than a hobby and began working towards making Savannah’s dream of being a professional singer a reality. By the time she turned ten, the Phillips family began dividing their time between their hometown of Atlanta and Los Angeles. She quickly attracted the attention of veteran artist developer, Frank Harris, who had previously worked with Joe Jackson and family. Harris noticed something special about Savannah and signed on to help her further her career. In 2007, Savannah began taking lessons from one of the nations leading vocal coaches, Jan Smith (Justin Bieber, Usher, Rob Thomas). After hearing Savannah sing, Smith, having a reputation for not taking on young talent unless they are already established in the industry, felt compelled to work with her. Smith saw that Savannah was very focused and driven and encouraged her to believe in herself. She began working on developing Savannah’s voice and helping her write songs. After making major career strides, Savannah was hit with an unfortunate setback in the fall of 2008. She was taken to the doctor and was diagnosed with a hereditary thyroid disease. Her career was placed on hold as she contemplated undergoing a risky surgery to remove her thyroid, one that would come dangerously close to her vocal chords and could possibly permanently alter her voice. “I was scared to through with it but knew it had to be done – for my health and the sake of my career,” says Savannah who went through with the procedure in 2009. The operation was a success and Savannah was on her feet and singing again the moment she was medically cleared. Savannah has collaborated with some of the most prestigious names in the recording industry, including Peter Rafelson (Madonna, Britney Spears, Elton John), Jimmy Hunter of Cazador Productions (Cher, The Village People), and producer Aris Archontis who has worked with everyone from Miley Cyrus to Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. She is currently the face of Gotta Flurt shoes of which she has her own “Savannah Phillips shoe” line. She’s performed on a Disney Summer Jamz Tour alongside the likes of Coco Jones (Disney’s Next Big Thing), had a video of her Healthy Kids Day set appear on TMZ, and was the guest of honor at Octomom’s kids birthday party – performing her catchy originals such as “Party in The Car” and “One in A Million to the octuplets and their friends. “My goal as a singer is to give out a positive and uplifting message to people,” explains Savannah of the impact she’d like to make with her career. “Life can be wonderful at times and we should enjoy it and never take it for granted. It may also be difficult but I truly believe that is what makes people stronger.” The singer builds her lyrics around what she’s been through in her life, whether it be a relationship ending, a new one beginning, or a struggle that she’s encountered. She also likes to sing about people that have made a powerful impact in her life. “Most of my music is high energy and exciting. I want to make people feel happy when they hear it,” she chirps. Known for her sassy stage show, Savannah credits Pink! as one of her big inspirations. “She doesn’t care what other people think and I admire that!” Savannah is gearing up to release her brand new single “Together We’re Amazing” which will be released on September 4th.
