"Colorful", "Vivid", "Image provoking" and "Intriguing" - these are the words often used to describe music from "Dubtrak Assault Unit", Dubtrak's debut CD. Neither trace/electronica nor dub/reggae are often talked about in these terms. Yet these are the words that come to mind when one listens to this album.

Successfully molding groove-based music into vibrantly colorful soundscapes is what makes Dubtrak's music equally appealing to both, club DJs and aerobic/yoga instructors. (Then again, others claim that the best way to listen to this CD is with a pair of headphones and some "mood enhancers").

Nowadays it's rare to see a debut release that goes beyond 45 min. of play time (and EP, being currently a very popular format for the first album, confirms that). But going against the grain, Dubtrak doesn’t want to 'play it save' and sets out to produce a full-length CD with 73 minutes of captivating music. The 14 tracks we hear on "Dubtrak Assault Unit" cross genres and take a listener on a spellbinding journey. Keeping the hypnotic beat going, Dubtrak dives deep into neo-ethnodub territory just to emerge amidst psychedelic rock vibes. Adding touches of color and a breath of exotic air to the old-fashion hand clapping and foot stomping rarely has been this much fun...
