The Alphabet Zoo children's CD is officially released on I tunes this week and through a variety of internet media on the Ozzy records label, the idea came about when mum Paula Morrison approached musician and producer Billy Neal with her idea of individual songs tailored to each letter of the alphabet with a different animal. Paula had composed melodies which she sang to her son Scotty at bedtime, and Billy along with Mandurah musician Peter Wilkinson set about composing the scores to each piece. The result is a charming array of songs to entice children to learn the alphabet using a huge variety of styles and instruments including full string sections to saxophones, didgeridoos and from pure classic in Crocodile to the punk rock guitar riffs in Iggy the Iguana. The project has been a total West Australian family affair with Alex Wilkinson creating the artwork and Paula and Billy's kids Scotty, Letty and Leon voicing the letters. Within days of production it caught the eye of the Chambers musical family, with patriarch, Bill pledging his support to the project and Casey Chambers playing it non stop in her car. The team contacted Christine Hodge of Make a wish Australia to help raise money for the charity for children and they officially donate one dollar from every cd sold. Its their target to sell one million copies worldwide! The CD has been enthusiastically received both here and in the UK and Europe. It’s rhymes have successfully been performed with puppets at book fairs & playgroups and has been most popular among Pre School and Kindy mums with some parents even choosing to pop it on their own phones due to its widely appealing songs.
