It’s an honor to finally release my first full Country CD after many, many years of performing and writing courtesy of my Record Label, Star 1 Records/Star 1 Group. This project is filled with all original songs including several songs co-written with my singing partner and regular co-writer Amy Chenoweth and also one with co-writer Gary Narron, two people who are very special to me and have helped bring new thoughts and creativity into my writing style. It is rare that I will cut a song that I have either not written or co-written, but “Old Wood Shavings” is a real gem, co-written with my cousin Robert Nichols who is a phenomenal Folk/American artist and songwriter in the Northeast, USA. It is a song written about his Grandfather Pearson that I had the honor of writing the country musical arrangement for. On this project you will find not only music for the younger generation, but also music of the roots of my true country self. One song written with Amy Chenoweth, “You’ll Have to Say Goodbye” was on hold by George Strait for a recent project and there are two additional songs, the original versions, which are a part of the new Nashville Artist Rowdy McCarran’s “Eyes Wide Open” CD that has just been released worldwide. The title track of Rowdy’s CD “Eyes Wide Open” is a rocked up version of my original Dwight Yoakum flavored version on this CD, “With My Eyes Wide Open Too." Rather than release a new Christian album, going forward on this and all future projects, I have decided to include one or two of my Christian songs on each new country CD as an expression of my faith in God from whom all blessings and ability to write these songs comes. I believe there is something for every country music fan on this project and hope that you enjoy the music!
