Fancy Boy is Zack Stefanski’s sophomore album written and recorded at his home studio in Louisville, Kentucky. It is a lyrical account of personal experiences amid the politically charged year of 2016. For instance, Blurry analyzes the mental state of an individual bombarded by headlines and limitless information; The Devil’s In The Details questions absurd widespread fear and extremist opinions. Vocal melodies are explored using a dry, airy lead with a widened range in contrast to the massive choral harmonies found in Portrait, Zack’s freshman album. In addition to this new technique, Zack utilizes local talent: Noah Reed (alto/tenor saxophone), Robert Bertke (flugelhorn), Luke Miller (baritone saxophone), and Connor Waldman (trombone). Fashioned with Patrick Denney (electric bass) and Andrew Sears (acoustic drums), Fancy Boy is an honest account of an emotional man in a futile world.
