Root Road’s 3 Track EP is a taste of what is to come from this Middle Tennessee based Christian pop trio. This exclusive collection of pre-released songs is a worthy follow-up to the group’s second full length album “I Am Here.” All three original songs explore difficult life issues that the band has dealt with since their decision to work toward being full-time musicians. The song “Rise Up” covers the issue of overcoming repeated failures. Guitarist/singer John says that “When we first moved to Middle Tennessee is was like starting over again. We could not find any venues to play because there were so may people out there doing the same thing as we were. Ultimately, each time we were rejected we needed to just get back up and try it again somewhere else.” “Time” was birthed out of singer/percussionist Nathanael’s revelation that time is a precious commodity and when we misuse it we can never get it back. The final song in the album “Pick Me Up” explores the subject of repairing broken friendship and the work it takes to get there. Each of the members in the group has experienced new stressors in their lives and has had to learn, despite the difficulty, to preserve their relationship as brothers and as friends. This honest collection of songs will enrich the listener and give them a taste of what is to come for Root Road’s third studio album.
