These songs explore real and imagined life in America from the late eighteenth to the early twentieth century. At one time American children grew up singing this remarkable music. George performs these songs authentically and passionately, not as museum pieces, but as living, thriving American literature. Also included, as a bonus track, is an original blues in the folk style by George Lawton: Vampire’s Blues.
