Dacha incorporates an electronic music aesthetic while utilizing live instrumentation. Think Atoms For Peace meets James Blake with a post-rock vibe. Originally formed as an open format songwriting collective, Dacha eventually coalesced to two - singer / keyboardist Arsen Gogeshvili and drummer / multi-instrumentalist Jeff Meigs. The newly formed songwriting duo wrote the EP material in a matter of weeks in a small apartment, eventually enlisting Sam Anderson (Hey Marseilles, Arkomo) for production and strings. Gogeshvili's Moscow upbringing became an inspiration for the band. A dacha – a small, typically snow-laden Soviet getaway home, became both an anchor of memory and a metaphor for Gogeshvili's relationship with his birth country. After an immigration, a psuedo-deportation and finally a green card, Gogeshvili began to call the West Coast home.
