For volume one of its S P I R A L S series, pioneering label Constant Circles curates a selection of rising artists, showcasing a diverse range of cutting edge sounds across the spectrum of electronic music - from driving peak time techno, to the most beautiful ambient electronica. First up is the elusive AntiAlias with ‘Oblivious Nature’. Already making waves though his own imprint Schakal, this Berlin based producer delivers a heavyweight slice of rolling techno that has been turning heads across dancefloors worldwide in recent weeks. Bringing a slightly more progressive flavour into the mix, rising stars Problem Makers team up with Steyoyoke staple and live performer BLANCAh to offer “Demiurge’; a beautifully crafted piece of melodic techno, with an epic breakdown and drop that will see all hands firmly in the air. Copenhagen based producer Radeckt then takes the reigns with a groovy tech house workout. ‘A Tale’ sees expertly crafted layers of organic percussion, built around complex synth lines and a haunting male vocal, from one half of the successful duo Leman & Dieckmann. Shifting down the tempo but not the quality, the uber talented Mr. Herbert Quain demonstrates his authentic and credible production style, teaming up with HedUbble for ‘The Night (To Find Another Place Version)’ - a feel-good slice of electronica with warm pads and a laid back groove. The master of ambient soundscapes, Yost, then takes us to another dimension in the final track ‘No Mention of Humans’, a simply incredible piece of ambient electronica, providing the perfect finale to the sampler. And so continues the story of a label built on the foundations of an unquenchable thirst for the underground and a yearning for the sounds of the future, the past and all that emerges in between.
