简介
Lone Piñon is an acoustic trio from Santa Fe, New Mexico that plays the ensemble-driven violin music of El Rio Grande del Norte: Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado, as well as Mexican stringband music from the Huasteca and Tierra Caliente regions. The trio has dedicated years to learning and performing the acoustic ensemble tradition that is at the heart of the region's musical landscape, working to reinfuse the repertoire with the vitality it lost with the passing of its most prominent musicians in the last few decades. Part of this work has included re-forging the musical connections between the traditional scene in New Mexico and the son huasteco and son calentano styles in Mexico that were once connected to it by the Camino Real, an ancient road and musical pipeline that supplied New Mexico with trade goods and bootie-shaking jams from the South.
