Hans Marius Andersen (born 23/12 1994) is an international trumpeter, composer and band leader from Bergen/Norway, equally at home in both jazz and classical music. Andersen is being referred to as one of the biggest trumpet talents in Europe. He started to play the trumpet at the age of three. By the age of five Hans Marius joined the local school band and five years later he advanced to the local brass band. In the years after Hans Marius has developed into becoming a well known and popular soloist. Apart from his solo career he´s played in bands like the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra and Bergen Big Band. Hans Marius plays mainly jazz and classical music, but can handle most genres. From 2010-2013 he was a student at the highest level of the talent development program at Barratt Due in Oslo. Hans Marius has through various projects cooperated with well known artists in many genres, such as Sissel Kyrkjebø, Håkan Hardenberger, Tord Gustavsen, Wolfgang Plagge, Jerry Bergonzi, Sigvart Dagsland, Nat Macintosh, Nick Van Eede, Katrina from "Katrina and the Waves" and been a soloist with among others the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, The Norwegian Radio Orchestra and the The Armed Forces’ Band West on several occasions. 15 years old, he released his first record entitled "My Christmas". On this record, he has been joined by some of Norways best musicians, both in the band and as guest artists. The record is a jazz / easy listning record. In the fall 2012 the Hans Marius Andersen Quintet was established. The band has developed into a quintet consisting of Hans Marius Andersen (Trumpet), Michael Barnes (Saxophone), Carsten Dyngeland (Piano), Ole Amund Gjersvik (Bass), Tore Ljøkelsøy (Drums). The band released the record "Embraceable You" in the fall of 2013. In addition to this band he also leads his own septett and Big Band. As a soloist outside Norway Andersen has held concerts in countries such as the USA, France and Poland. Besides his solo carreer Andersen is a popular and much used ensamble and studio musician.
