Recorded all over the world, from Sydney, Australia, London, UK, New York, USA, this sophomore release from ROCKSTAR:INXS finalist MiG Ayesa has been a long time in the making but well worth the wait. After breaking away from Decca/Universal, this independently produced album has been a labour of love with meticulous attention to detail in every way. Young-gun Aussie producer/songwriter Carl Dimataga captures MiG's energy and sentimentality, not only producing and co-producing with MiG, but also adds his incredible guitar prowess throughout. Two tracks separate themselves from the pack. NOTHIN' YOU DO was recorded in London with producer/writer Simon Pinto, while MiG was starring in Queen's hit musical WE WILL ROCK YOU. The track was never released but with a little dusting and remixing, is seamlessly added to the mix. SUMMER FEELING was recorded in Brooklyn, New York one balmy summer afternoon at Atlantic Sound by MiG and a bunch of friends and the result is an addictive, summer anthem that should become a modern classic. TO WHOM IT MUST CONCERN was originally titled "Letter from Baghdad", as MiG wrote this in 2004 at the height of the Iraq War as a letter from a soldier on the front line. But the same kind of letter can be written from any battleground of any war at any time, so as to not limit its relevance, the title changed, but the passion did not. All the tracks have been written at various times in MiG's life but the album takes you on a journey from beginning to end. So to listen to the whole album as a single piece of work is well worth the effort. The album is divided and bookended by musical interludes of DARK DARK NIGHT. The full song does not appear on this album, however the words of the chorus speak perfectly about the story of this album and where MiG finds himself in his career. After a tumultuous few years following ROCKSTAR:INXS, he has finally found a place of stability and strength, and shows that determination will win out in the end. He is still going through a dark dark night, and needs fight more than ever. He's still here. He's still holding on. It looks like he's here to stay.
