简介
Originally recorded in 1978, this midwestern gem was created by singer songwriter Shadric Smith with the help of a great group of studio and performing musicians. The 14 songs included here represent the best of his first ten years of songwriting. "Diamonds Don't Mean A Thing" was later recorded and released by Leon Redbone in 1986. This CD features some great songs and fiddling with guest fiddlers Vassar Clements on several tracks, Mike Russell on several tracks, and Kenny Putnam on "Nitehawks" with Vassar doing a twin part. Other musicians include Gary Durr on bass, Chuck Henderson on guitars, Bruce McCabe on piano and accordion, Dolor Adams on drums and Lloyd "Abe" Abraham on harmonica. Engineered and co-produced by Frank Wiewel and Kirk Kaufman at Westminst'r Sound ( now Junior's Motel ) outside of Otho, Iowa.
