From the foothills of the Texas Hill Country, Luis Arizpe is a Bluesman with great musical skill and craft. Haunted days and long dark nights define his past, but, those stories have shaped his music. With a love of jazz and blues, Luis Arizpe combines both; all the nuance and subtly of Jazz guitar with the raw emotive power of Texas Blues. Reaching out to the marginalized and disenfranchised, his lyrics speak of struggle and hope, of the search for truth and the celebration of pain redeemed. “Big Little Guy”, released in 2006, marked the start of his solo career. A CD of all-original music ranging from Jazz/Blues to Americana, it has reached wide-spread distribution including iTunes, Rhapsody, and Wal-Mart.com The title track, “Big Little Guy”, garnered “Best Melody”, “Most Original” and “Best Blues Rock Drummer” from Garageband.com. Luis was featured on the KABB-29's "Guitar Hero" segment and played regularly in the south Texas region, at such places as Casbeer's and Floore’s Country Store, and headlined at the Texas Music Coalition’s 10th Anniversary. He was also featured at Fiesta San Antonio's King William Fair. Since then, Luis has been on the Fine Arts Faculty of a private classical-education Christian school where he has been teaching the next generation of young musicians.
