Each track deals with real life issues, honest reflection, we can say Minus raises the mindset of his fans. Streetsteps.com recently caught up with Minus, where he shed insight into the new record, his own time in the streets, and how these experiences shaped him as a rapper. Streetsteps.com: Tell us about your latest album. Its like my first gamble, that why Im calling double or nothingI sat forever choosing the beat; I worked hard to make it consistent on every track. You know, it felt right, the tracks came together easily, the more I listen to it, I hear hits, it wont be hard to push. It definitely should me what I was capable. Streetsteps.com: What can people expect from your album? What will be some of the messages behind the lyrics? I tried to make a good solid album, all around. You can listen to it from Start to Finish, you can feel every track. That was really important for me. Streetsteps.com: What was your favorite track? Hypnotize was the first track I wrote, so it takes a special place. The Grind, with EDO and Dollars & Sense with Cappadona & KrumbI like the whole album. Streetsteps.com: When is the record going hit stores? We hope to hit the streets hard in March. Streetsteps.com: What do you think about the Hip-Hop Game right now? Where do you see hip-hop in 5 years? Rap right nowwell its definitely not what it used to be. Like when Wu-tan was big and KRS was doing his thing. That era had a unique sound its just not the same. If I get a piece of it, hopefully I can bring back that classic feel. Streetsteps.com: What do you think is the most important part of a track, the message, the beat? Unfortunately people look at the beat, for me as a writer its the message. Streetsteps.com: Who Have you work with, will there be upcoming projects? Great MCs from MASS, underground Legends like Krumbsnatcha, EDOG, my Man D.One, Lacpayne, Slaine, Cappadona the Great, Lee Wilson who got love in Vibe mag, Lyrical from back in the day.
