AARDVARCK (DJAX, Signum, Delsin, Rushhour), DAVID CARON (Eevo Lute, Mo'Wax), MADCAP (Eclectica), SANDOR CARON (Signum, Delsin) and SONAR LODGE (Dark Vinyl, Signum, Delsin) have been collaborating for several years in various forms (live and studio) and have gained international credit with their releases and concerts. "Compilation 1" and "Coda"; the first releases by their new label MUSIC FOR SPEAKERS, offer an indication of what Music for Speakers is about: groundbreaking releases on cd & 12". What these artists have in common is the urge to explore new rhythms and structures in modern dancemusic (vocal and instrumental), set in a melancholical, "relaxed" mood. Describing their music as triphop, ambient, drum 'n' bass or "jazzy" would not do them justice. Although these elements can be recognized, the result is something new and fresh: Compilation 1: a collection of 13 superbly produced, previously unreleased tracks that is essential to anyone with an interest in soulful, innovative dancemusic.
