简介

ABOUT WILL William Morris Raymund passed away on August 21st, 2015 at the age of 27, leaving behind an artistic legacy that reflected talent and passion far greater than his all-too-brief life would suggest. Countless individuals were moved by his exceptional musicianship as a guitarist, bassist, vocalist and composer. Always able to light up a room with his smile, charm, and infectious energy, even total strangers were susceptible to Will’s colorful personality and enthusiasm for life. He was truly a beautiful individual with a good heart and righteous soul that will not soon be forgotten. The void he left upon his death will never be able to be justly filled, but his memory and spirit will live on through the music and art he contributed to the Boston Live Music Scene during his brief stint in this world. ALBUM GOAL The goal of this album is to re-create Will’s music as he imagined it using real instruments (some of which are Will’s very own) and real musicians. He often spoke of a deep desire to record these songs in-studio with live instrumentation, but was often tied up with the success of his production company, Raymund Media LLC. The album is an all-encompassing overview of Will’s artistic life and the power he manifested through his music and art. ALBUM CONTENT “A Good Night Poem” consists of 15 Will Raymund original compositions ranging from Rock, Pop, Funk, and Reggae to Classical, Jazz, and Acoustic. These songs were written throughout the course of Will’s life and are a mere snapshot of his musical and artistic legacy. In addition to the audio content, the album features 16 original pencil sketches by Will, as well as a number of musical ideas that he often wrote down in a manuscript notebook, but never had the chance to record. The track listing and performing artists are as follows: 1. “The Lives We Live” [Spiritual Rez] 2. “Bad Intent” [R.Beke/J.Felitto/R.Jordan/A.Krahn/K.Ruggieri] 3. “Jezebel” [R.Beke/J.Felitto/R.Jordan/A.Krahn/K.Ruggieri] 4. “On the And” [The Effective Dose] 5. “Plastic People” [R.Beke/J.Felitto/R.Jordan/A.Krahn/K.Ruggieri] 6. “Full Moon Interlude” [J.Felitto] 7. “Fishes in the Sea” [Will Raymund] 8. “Funk Bucket” [The Effective Dose ft. Caton Sullenberger] 9. “Variations on a Theme in G minor” [J.Felitto] 10. “Marina Make Love” [J.Felitto/R.Jordan/A.Krahn/K.Ruggieri/A.Vasconcelos] 11. “Mini Six” [R.Beke/J.Dessler/J.Felitto/A.Krahn/R.Krahn/R.O'Block/K.Ruggieri] 12. “Of Love and Loss” [Monica Raymund/R.Beke] 13. “Peanuts & Cashews” [lespecial] 14. “Plane to Tokyo” [The Effective Dose] 15. “A Goodnight Poem” [Monica Raymund/R.Beke] DREAMS BECOMES REALITY I, Kyle Ruggieri, began compiling a catalogue of Will’s original material in September 2015 after an inspirational conversation with his sister, Monica, regarding how we could keep his artistic legacy alive. Together, Monica and I had about six complete audio files of songs recorded by Will but knew there was lots more material to be discovered. And so, the search began… This process involved listening through hours of recorded Effective Dose shows/rehearsals, instrumental jams that Will and I often recorded at 12 Bucknam Street during our time at Berklee, and reaching out to friends and family for any songs he may have written and recorded but had since been lost. The outpouring of support from Will’s far reaching network was unprecedented (THANK YOU), and by October 2015 the arrangement process for all 15 songs began. The concept for the album was to record all the songs using new, live instrumental tracks and Will’s existing vocal stems (original tracks) from the ProTools sessions that were stored on his personal hard drives. Unfortunately, this became impossible due to Will’s unprecedented knowledge of cyber security and encryption methods, which made his hard drive content inaccessible. Instead, it was decided that each track be arranged to stay as close to Will’s original recording as possible (12 of the 15 original audio tracks were retrieved). Additionally, the musicians performing on the new recordings would be Will’s friends and family using his personal instruments (guitar, bass, and trumpet) that were graciously donated by his parents after his death. PRODUCTION PROCESS Production for the album commenced in December 2015 at My Lady On Fire Studio in Brighton, MA. Will was a frequent visitor to the studio and assisted on a number of projects, so it was a fitting location to begin the recording process. Basic tracking wrapped up in March 2016 at Chillhouse Studios in Charlestown, MA, and then the mixing process began. Four different producers were involved in the mixing stage of production: Will Holland (Chillhouse Studios – Charlestown, MA) Pat Hanlin (JamHouse Studios – Wellesley, MA) Joe Mahoney (Strewnshank Productions – Charlestown, MA) Jason Felitto (My Lady On Fire Studio – Brighton, MA) The mastering phase of the album production process commenced in May 2016 and wrapped up in June 2016. Mastering was engineered by: Nick Townsend (Infrasonic Sound Co. – Los Angeles, CA) THANKS FOR LISTENING! There could be no better way to celebrate Will's life than through sharing his music and art with the world. He will forever be missed.
