Sixto Corbalán, Paraguayan Harpist, brings out much more than new arrangements for the traditional music: he suggests a new path for the Paraguayan folk music giving new vitality to traditional rhythms, mixing them up with other genres and achieving in this way to position the Paraguayan folk music within the today´s path of world´s music.

Music always reflects the times their creators live in. The audience who expects the well-known and traditional Paraguayan harp music will be taught that times change and music develops. Sixto Corbalán honors the musical legacy for these 36 diatonically tuned strings but at the same time he reflects with his own compositions the young feeling of contemporary harp music in Paraguay. Keeping in mind his traditions, he presents to the audience the contemporary Paraguayan music with rounded harmonies and powerful, expressive melodies that reflect the global world we are living in.
