简介
Cold Feet Mark Freeman is not the black soldier who chased Pancho Villa all over Mexico with Black Jack Pershing. He’s not a third generation Irish stonecutter with too much dust in his lungs, either. But just listen to the songs he sings, and you’d swear that he’s got these folks coming in on some spooky spiritual channel that only he can hear. That is, until you hear them, too, alive again in the lyrics of Mark’s funny, sad and sometimes shocking tunes. His new CD, Cold Feet, celebrates uniquely American stories in songs that draw heavily on the cadences of American Roots Music. Mark found his way to this sound by a long and circuitous path that started in Pittsburgh back in the 60’s, where he drummed and sang for a popular local rock band. Ask him several hundred times, and he’ll pull out the vinyl album they cut. Life’s switch-back fun ride took him in and out of journalism, in and out of the advertising business and in and out of carpentry and house painting. Somewhere along the line, he hooked-up with the vibrant Roots Music scene in Cleveland, Ohio. Lucky him. Lucky us. Mark’s honey and gravel voice has been seasoned by a busy performance schedule from his adopted home-town to New York state. Listen to the CD. Catch him live if you can. He’s the real deal.
