A new type of storyteller who effortlessly weaves fact with fiction, Wiscons dives deep into his mind’s eye to conjure songs that are more stories than anything else. A true “double threat,” he’s beginning to come into his own not just as a songwriter, but also as a novelist with the release of the third installment of the Bear Whitman series in as many years. Brett was born in Chicago and raised in Plymouth, IN on a unique amalgam of music ranging from vocal powerhouses Sade, Jeff Buckley and Edwin McCain to rock bands Pearl Jam, Counting Crows, Eagles, the Sundays and Hootie & the Blowfish. Within these influences you’ll find his musical marriage: jangly pop, a dash of soul and moody acoustics to create a sound all his own. He says, “growing up, I always heard the vocals first. That’s what drew me in to music – killer, and in some cases, haunting vocal melodies and lyrics. From the time I was sixteen, I wanted to be a vocalist and write my own songs and stories.” His next recording project – The Heineken Sessions EP – will reunite Brett with two-time GRAMMY-winning producer, guitarist and songwriter Mark Bryan in Awendaw, SC. Mark is a founding member of the band Hootie & the Blowfish. It is slated for a winter 2015 release. His latest novel – Turn Three was officially published on 3/2/15 via MAD Diamond Entertainment.
