Jane Kim is a soulful singer based in San Francisco by way of New York. She grew up in a very musical home thanks to her mom who was a choir director and a dad whose record collection included Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, and Queen. Jane first began singing professionally in high school when a Grammy-nominated producer in her hometown of Redding, CT, called and asked her to sing on a few albums for him. During her college years in Boston, she regularly performed in jazz clubs, restaurants, and talent showcases. In 2007, Jane competed in the Boston PopSearch vocal competition and made it to the Sweet 16. One of the highlights of the entire experience for her was performing on the main stage of the Boston Symphony Hall accompanied by musicians from the Boston Pops! When Jane moved to New York for a job at RCA Records, she was privileged to join a loving and encouraging community of artist friends and musicians who became her regular collaborators. Many of them are involved in the making of this EP. In 2011, Jane moved to San Francisco to start her west coast adventures. It was in San Francisco that the dream of making this EP was reborn, and the dream became a reality thanks to the support and generosity of nearly 200 backers on Kickstarter.
