Whit Smith has been touring and playing guitar with the western swing and hot jazz trio, Hot Club of Cowtown for 17 years. "On The Nature Of Strings" is his first solo initiative and dives straight into his love for jazz. The sound of the CD is also influenced by production techniques of the late 1950's .

Inspired by artists from Django Reinhardt to Chet Baker these tunes were written with a love for beautiful or catchy melodies first, lush twin guitar harmonies and arrangements and then hip original soloing.
