London alternative rock band This Is Radio Silence return with their 2nd album, ‘Soon Much Of This Will Have Been Destroyed’, released on the band’s own Disconnected Music label. The follow-up to TIRS’s debut ‘Now There’s Nothing’ (2010), ‘Soon...’ features 9 tracks, including recent single ‘Our Saving Grace’, the dub-tinged psych-rock of ‘In A Cage’ and climactic live favourite ‘Swansong’. For the first time with TIRS, guitarist Sam Astley takes lead vocal duties on ‘Two For Joy’ and ‘Events/Setbacks/Annoyances’. This Is Radio Silence formed in 2006 as the project of former SonVer guitarist and Earth Loop Recall frontman Ben McLees, becoming a full band in 2010 with the addition of guitarist Sam Astley and bassist Geoff Courts. TIRS have impressed with a string of live shows – described having as ‘near-psychedelic intensity’ – most notably a memorable show supporting iconic post-punk group The Chameleons in London. With the core trio augmented with keyboardist Hunter Barr, TIRS are planning a busy live schedule for 2013 in support of the new album.
