The 'I Miss My Daddy' song gives voice to children who are at the center of domestic turmoil between two parents who are not getting along. Although both boys and girls go through the hardships of not having their father's influence in their upbringing, the uniqueness of the bond between a daughter and her father is addressed in this project. 'I Miss My Daddy' (and its accompanying music video which can be seen on YouTube) was put together on behalf of any girl who has ever been adversely affected by the absence of her father for whatever reason, and illustrates how that pain can intensify when the father is alive and well and yet still is absent. Although many mothers have a plausible reason for not wanting their child's father to partake in their lives, the song addresses the mothers whose sole reason for prohibiting contact is due to the anger and resentment the mother holds for the father. The song also suggests that not all fathers are deadbeats. The follow-up single 'We're Gonna Be Alright' picks up where 'I Miss My Daddy' left off, where both the daughter and her father vow that they will 'be alright' and will maintain a connection no matter what.
