Shmuli's Dream is the result of a live recording session done for KEXP 90.3's Sonarchy Radio. Eli Rosenblatt puts together an ensemble of multi-instrumentalists to flesh out his quirky songs in textures and tones from around the world. Influences from Eastern Europe, The Middle East, USA and Cuba find new life when played by this ensemble featuring violin, trumpet, bass clarinet, tar and classical guitar. From new settings of traditional Jewish songs to a languid take on the Cuban cha cha cha, this album is by turns lyrical, playful and rhythmic.
