Filta Freqz are Simon Cortez and Marco Manrique, two DJs turned producers making funky filtered house. Tweak da peak cause we're da Filta Freqz! Marco and Simon met at secondary school (1986) sharing the same interest's in electro, hip-hop, breakdancing and graffiti. From then both decided to take up DJing with keen interest into D.M.C. style mixing and scratching. Only to discover acid house music at the Centre Farnham Road slough: (Marvin Connors, yikes,slippery when wet. ) and of course Zen (tuff tunes pukka parties). Seeing PA's like N. Joi, nightmares on wax. From then we started buying records from Slough Record Centre (R. I. P) now closed! (Sam + Simon Cherry) also buying ticket's for all the big raves up and down the country. We decided it was time to start producing ourselves, both buying equipment and started learning the basics and becoming the Freqz.
