18 rare recordings by legendary French actress, Sarah Bernhardt. Subjects range from excerpts from her plays to original poems. Each recording is from about 2-4 minutes in length, and are performed in their original French.

This most famous of all actresses performs with her legendary power, vibrato, and interpretation in full force. Her voice is unlike any you have ever heard, and is everything you have ever read about. Each recording has been digitally re-mastered to maximize the volume and clarity. They vary in quality, depending on the wear of the original material. These were all "acoustical recordings" made on wax cylinders or pressed into shellac 78 rpm discs, recorded with the primitive technology available between 1902-1918, and recorded without the aid of microphones. There is some surface noise embedded within the ancient tracks, but in all of them, Sarah's voice comes through, all her vocal gymnastics are amazingly resonate, her unique vibrato is mesmerizing, and her golden voice is spine-tingling.
